Parish Council Members
Knights of Columbus:
All men in the parish are invited to join the Maurice J. McDonough Council for social and religious activities focused on support of parish functions, Church, Community, Family, Youth, Pro-Life, Fraternity, and Country. Business meetings are held the first Tuesday each month in the Parish Activity Center.
Women's Group:
Open to all women of the parish who are interested in participating as a group in social and religious activities that outreach and serve the parish needs. Meetings are on the first Thursday of each month in the Parish Activity Center
Social Concerns Committee:
Assists with food collection at St. Joseph and preparation of the Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets for the needy within our local community.
Altar Servers:
Open to children and teenagers, altar servers assist the priest during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Commitment includes serving once every two to three weeks, or as scheduled, as well Initial training and on-going formation sessions.
Arimatheans for Funerals:
Assists during Funeral Liturgies with set up and altar serving. Time commitments vary by need after an initial training session.
Choir:
Assists with music and singing at one of the weekly Sunday Masses.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:
Assists with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and to those who are sick and shut-in. Open to Catholics in good standing who have received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation).
Lectors
Assist with proclaiming the Holy Scriptures during Mass.
Ushers
Assist at one of the Sunday Masses with warmly welcoming and seating parishioners, helping parishioners to carry up the gifts during the offertory procession; assist with the offertory collection and with ensuring an orderly flow of the Holy Communion lines.
Church Cleaning
Open to families or individuals, assists in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of the church's interior for worship and praise at Mass. Time commitment includes joining a team that cleans about five times a year.
Clerical & Administrative Support
Assists in preparing mailings, bulletin inserts, worship guides, catechetical resources and/or computer work, such as data entry, transcribing notes, layout and design
Parish Council
The council serves in an advisory capacity to the Pastor regarding parish issues. Membership is made up of elected representatives from the community and pastor’s appointees. Meetings are on the second Thursday of each month.
